What to expect from the first rounds

We won't invent numbers, but the mechanics are knowable, and they shape how the first draws will behave:

  • Employers file before candidates. Because the job offer enters the system first and you then have 30 days to register, the pool builds behind employer activity. Early draws will reflect whichever employers moved fastest, not the full applicant population.
  • Expect pathway specific rounds. The stream has three pathways with materially different score ceilings and floors. Drawing them together would systematically disadvantage TEER 4 to 5 candidates, who forfeit 19 occupation points by definition.
  • Early cut offs are usually unrepresentative.In every province, the first rounds after a program redesign are noisy; a thin pool, a backlog of prepared candidates, or a deliberately small first draw all distort the number. Don't over-read draw one.
  • The pool resets matter.EOIs expire. A score that misses several rounds isn't permanently uncompetitive; it re-enters a differently shaped pool each time.

How to read a draw when it comes

Four numbers get published, and three of them are more informative than the one everybody quotes.

Minimum score

The headline number, and the least stable. It reflects pool composition on that day, not a standing requirement.

Invitations issued

Volume tells you how aggressively Ontario is using its allocation, and whether a near-miss score is likely to clear next round.

Pathway targeted

A TEER 4 to 5 round and a TEER 0 to 3 round are not comparable. Match the draw to your own pathway before drawing conclusions.

Three draws make a trend; one makes a headline. This page exists so you can see the shape rather than the spike.

Why old OINP draw data doesn't transfer

Searching "OINP draw history" still surfaces years of Employer Job Offer and Express Entry stream results. Those draws used different scoring systems entirely, several weren't even score ranked in the same way, and all eight of those streams closed on June 26, 2026. Comparing a 2025 Human Capital Priorities cut off to a Workforce Priority score is comparing two unrelated scales.

What people ask while waiting for the first round.

How many OINP draws have been held in 2026?

None under the Ontario Workforce Priority stream. Earlier 2026 rounds, including April 2026 invitations logged on this page, belonged to Employer Job Offer and graduate streams that closed on June 26, 2026.

What was the last OINP draw?

There has been no draw under the Workforce Priority stream. The latest rounds on Ontario's invitations page before that redesign include April 30, 2026 Employer Job Offer draws for the Greater Toronto Area. Those scores use closed stream grids and do not transfer to Workforce Priority.

When will the first Workforce Priority draw happen?

Ontario has indicated the expression of interest system reopens in summer 2026 but has not confirmed a date. We log every announcement here as it is published, and there is an email alert on this page for the first round.

What information does Ontario publish for each draw?

Typically the date, the pathway or category targeted, the minimum score and the number of invitations issued. The minimum score is the number everyone quotes, but invitation volume and the targeted pathway are usually more informative.

Why can't I use old OINP draw scores?

Because all eight previous streams closed and used different scoring systems, some of which were not score ranked in a comparable way. Comparing a 2025 Human Capital Priorities cut off to a Workforce Priority score compares two unrelated scales.

Will the first draws have low cut off scores?

Unknowable, and early rounds after any program redesign tend to be unrepresentative. A thin pool, a backlog of well prepared candidates or a deliberately small first draw can all distort the first number in either direction. Three draws make a trend; one makes a headline.

Will draws be pathway specific?

The stream's structure suggests so. Skilled, essential and physician pathways have materially different score ceilings; TEER 4 to 5 candidates forfeit 19 occupation points by definition, so drawing them together would systematically disadvantage one group.

What happens to my EOI if I'm not invited?

It remains in the pool until it expires and is considered in later rounds. You can update it if your circumstances improve, and the updated score applies to subsequent draws.
