Frequently asked questions
Is this up to date with the June 2026 OINP changes?
Yes. Ontario closed all eight previous OINP streams on June 26, 2026 and launched the Workforce Priority stream. This calculator implements the official EOI scoring framework published in July 2026 under Regulation 422/17: 11 factors, maximum 130 points. Most calculators online still score the old, closed streams.
What score do I need to be invited?
Nobody knows yet; the EOI system hasn't reopened, so no invitation rounds or cutoffs exist. What's clear from the grid: wage, Ontario experience, region and language carry the most weight. Once draws begin, we'll publish live cutoffs here.
Is scoring points the same as being eligible?
No, and this trips people up. Points decide your rank in the pool; eligibility is separate: minimum work experience (6 months consecutive in the position for TEER 0 to 3, 9 months cumulative for TEER 4 to 5, with exceptions), minimum language (CLB 6 for most TEER 0 to 3, CLB 5 for listed trades, CLB 4 for TEER 4 to 5), education, legal status, and your employer must pass their own checks.
How does a nomination connect to Express Entry?
TEER 0 to 3 applicants (and physicians) can be nominated through Express Entry. An accepted nomination adds 600 CRS points, effectively guaranteeing an invitation at the next draw. That's why a modest OINP score can still be the fastest route to PR.
